Mahjong Solitaire Strategy for Calm Mahjong

Classic strategy opens layered boards. Calm Mahjong adds one more choice: protect the four-space tray while uncovering deeper tiles.

Three priorities

Make every tap create room.

1

Protect the tray

Match a waiting tile before four different faces fill the tray.

2

Open deeper layers

Remove tiles that reveal the greatest number of hidden choices.

3

Keep both sides useful

Balance the left and right edges so one side does not become trapped.

A calm move order

Pause, scan, then choose.

There is no timer. A short scan often reveals a move that both completes a pair and opens the board.

  1. 1

    Check the tray first

If a tile already waits in the tray, look for its free matching face before adding something new.

  2. 2

    Compare what each pair opens

Prefer a pair that uncovers a lower layer or releases a blocked left or right side.

  3. 3

Keep space for the next move

Three different tray tiles leave no room for an unrelated fourth tile. Pause and find a match.

  4. 4

    Scan both edges

Opening only one side can hide useful choices on the other. Keep the whole layout moving.

When you want a hand

Use the tools with a purpose.

Hint

Looks for a useful match, starting with a tile already waiting in your tray.

Undo
